It seems that web journalist and book editor, Michael Santomauro, inadvertently sent an E-mail to all the names on the PTA mailing list of his son’s school, P.S. 290, asking them that they read a book that he publishes entitled ”Debating the Holocaust”. Although Mr. Santomauro apologized for his mistake, Ms. Santos tells readers that, ”Still the damage was done ”. What damage are we talking about…how can anyone be damaged by being asked to read a book? Ms. Santos then tells us that the school’s principal was in the process of contacting the ADL in order to ” seek further clarity ”. Clarity about what?

Ms. Santos goes on to say that the ADL regional director, Ron Meir described Mr. Santomauro using a term borrowed from the porn industry, as ” a hard core Holocaust denier ”. To her credit Ms. Santos does tell us that Mr. Santomauro insists that he does not deny the holocaust but merely wants to encourage debate on the subject. In closing a parent Melinda Batelli-Scopaz is quoted as follows ” this guy is a moron ”. No mention is made of whether or not Ms. Batelli-Scopaz holds any academic credentials in either psychology or history that would give any credence to her assertion’.Michael Santomaurohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14257040568294637764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-633581663557175057.post-56202864304854587762011-02-19T10:35:32.509-05:002011-02-19T10:35:32.509-05:00Tony

All denialists share the same features, like a common underlying mental health problem. They refute facts, move goal posts, play the victim, endorse conspiracies...etc. I have never called AIDS Deniers Nazis.

I have noted that many AIDS Deniers are old Germen/Austrian men who are best described as Duesberg Sympathizers.

I never said Duesberg was a Nazi, just noted that his father was one....and how that likely has affected Duesberg's mistrust of all things authoritarian. So in fact, I have pointed out that Duesberg is not only not a Nazi, his repulsion toward Nazis may be at the root of his self-destructive behavior.

So chill out Tony and notice that the tactics of the AIDS Deniers and Holocaust Deniers overlap...Seth Kalichmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01715826946361587097noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-633581663557175057.post-72326087976300850622011-02-17T21:06:09.062-05:002011-02-17T21:06:09.062-05:00Seth.. i encourage you to look up the term, 'g...Seth.. i encourage you to look up the term, 'godwin'... Basically, anyone who resorts to comparing their opponent to the Nazi's or Nazi sympathizers, has just godwinned themselves.

Even if your were right within the debate, your tactic has completely invalidated any of your credibility, thus you automatically have lost the discussion.

Trust me, dude. You're not doing the orthodox movement any favors by comparing dissidents to Nazi sympathizers. Quite the contrary.Tonyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15807527912579117504noreply@blogger.com
